Maxi-Cosi Pria 85 Convertible Child Car Seat is Recalled. 83,000 Maxi- Cosi 85 Convertible Child Car Seats were recalled due to concerns over safety standards for larger children. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, children weighing 65 pounds or over could endure head injuries during impact if the seat is in its forward-facing position. The recall followed safety testing where the seat failed to properly restrain a test dummy. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration recalls Ellume COVID-19 Home Tests due to the potential for false-positive results. A manufacturer issue was detected causing “positive” test results for individuals that indeed did not have the virus. Although positive results are unconfirmable, there are no known issues with the negative results. The FDA is working closely with Ellume to assess the company manufacturing checks further. Ford Recalls 16,430 F-150 Trucks over Improper Seatbelt Installation. Owners are being asked to refrain from driving their newly made 2021 Ford model due to safety concerns regarding seatbelt efficiency. The webbing of the seatbelt may have been incorrectly installed through a rubber trim sleeve instead of an anchor as it should have been. This manufacturer issue can increase the chances of serious injuries if the driver is not able to be properly restrained. Ford is asking owners of the F-150 to perform inspections of their front-row seatbelts and give customers information on that process.
