What Are Social Security Reconsideration Applications?

There is generally three main levels that you apply for to qualify for social security. The first is the initial application. And so when you get denied at the initial application, you’re applying for reconsideration. You’re asking the government to qualify you for social security even though they denied you. A very small percentage of people get their initial application that was denied turned over in reconsideration. It’s like 6% nationwide is the statistic. If you get denied again at reconsideration, then it would go before an administrative law judge for a hearing. So that’s really the three main levels.
