Recalled Electrolux refrigerators potentially causing serious choking hazard. As of June 2, 2022, the North Carolina-based company, Electrolux is forced to recall 13 models of the Frigidaire refrigerator. The concerns initiated from a problem with the ice maker aspect of the refrigerator. Products like the Frigidaire and Electrolux Side-by-Side, Top Freezer, and Multi-door refrigerators carry a faulty level detector arm in the ice maker. This arm piece can break into pieces and fall into the ice bucket, posing as a choking hazard. There have been over 150 reports of a broken ice level detector and at least one report of a laceration to a person’s gums. The company is remedying this by replacing all refrigerators affected. About 367,500 units were sold in addition to 7,180 sold in Canada. If you are concerned about your Electrolux refrigerator, the company is urging customers to empty the ice maker and immediately stop using it. Popular vehicle manufacture Hyundai recalls Accent and Elantra models over seat belt safety. Over 230,00 2019-2022 Hyundai Accents and 2021-2023 Hyundai Elantra models have been recalled due to exploding seat belts. Manufactures recognized that if a crash takes place, the front seat, side seat belt pretensioner may explode upon impact. The seat belt pretensioner is the mechanism that secures the base of the seatbelt into the frame of the vehicle. This mechanism is housed under the front seats of the vehicle. If this mechanism breaks during impact, the entire seat belt is compromised and can potentially result in serious injuries. Hyundai is remedying this issue by providing vehicle owners with a free repair of the seat belt pretensioners. Owner notification letters are said to be sent out by July 15, 2022. Walmart Inc. issues a nationwide recall on wellness supplement’s due to undisclosed drug ingredients. Walmart voluntarily takes supplement product off the shelves as they contain hidden drugs that could affect customers differently, potentially leading to serious health complications. The Arti Ajo King Joint Supplements sold by Innovacion Naturals and PDX Supply Warehouse LLC on Walmart.com and in retail stores were found to contain Diclofenac, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug that can increase serious cardiovascular events. This hidden ingredient misleads consumers and can cause health complications. The hidden drug can also interact with other mediation in a person’s system, which can be dangerous if it’s not discussed with a medical provider. Walmart has contacted customers via email or post mail, urging them to confirm use of the supplements with their medical provider, or disposing of the product.
