What Is the Difference Between a Primary Secondary and Presumptive Condition?

So what is the difference between primary, secondary and presumptive condition? So we have to show a service connection between your disabling condition and your inservice time. Right? That event that happened in service that has caused this disabling condition. So primary means that your disabling condition, whether it’s an injury, whether it’s a stressor, whether an exposure, has a link directly to an inservice event. Secondary means that your disabling condition is linked to something that has already been accepted as an inservice condition. So it’s linked to another disabling condition. And then presumptive is just what the word means. It’s presumed. So based on the condition that you have, it’s automatically accepted as an inservice connection. So we prove that you have that disabling condition through medical testimony and therefore you automatically get the service connection. And so that’s the difference between the three.
