Can I Apply for SSD While Still Working Part-Time?

Somebody who’s working part-time can apply for benefits even though they’re working. However, Social Security has very strict rules about how much you’re allowed to earn. The rules change yearly. They do give increases, but it’s very minimal. Here in 2025, you can only earn up to $1,600 in gross earnings. If you earn more than that, then that will disqualify you from being eligible for benefits.
