Does Rhode Island Have a Cap for Personal Injury Compensation?

There is no cap on personal injury compensation in Rhode Island. As a practitioner, as a trial attorney, you just want to be careful that in the trial that you don’t try to inflame the jury to a point where the judge thinks maybe they were overborne by emotion or overcome by emotion because the court thinks that the verdict was excessive. Because of that, the court might offer a reduction or a new trial.
