Get To Know Attorney Kelsey Craveiro at Rob Levine Law

I’ve been with Rob Levine Law for nearly nine years, and I’ve been the managing attorney of their VA disability division for about five. I went to law school at Quinnipiac University School of Law, where I concentrated in alternative dispute resolution. My grandfather was a veteran. He served in the Navy in the 1950s. I’ve always had a special appreciation for the sacrifice of veterans. There’s an expression that all gave some and some gave all. So I thought that it was a great way for me to give back with my skill set. I represented a female veteran who came to me trying to establish service connection, which is a phrase for the Department of Veterans Affairs acknowledging that a disability is related to service. She sought my help for obtaining service connection for breast cancer, but did not know how it was potentially related to her military service. So after digging and finding kind of a needle in a haystack, we were able to identify that she was exposed to a host of conditions that are known carcinogens that could have caused her breast cancer. We were able to finally service connect her breast cancer before she passed. It’s a case that I’m particularly proud of given that she was dealing with food insecurity and housing insecurity at the time. So it was not just about getting her an acknowledgement of what she had been through, but it was about giving her the ability to pass on generational wealth. Through a long career, you’re oftentimes looking for the things that continue to drive you and motivate you, and that’s a case that always comes to front of mind.
