So you were involved in a truck accident, either I-90 or I-95 in Massachusetts, or in reality, let’s say you were hit by a truck anywhere in Massachusetts for that matter. So often I get questions like, what do we do in a truck accident? How is that different than a motor vehicle accident? And the reality is it’s complicated. There’s a lot of differences when a tractor trailer is involved. And the reason for that is, first of all, the driver has a commercial driver’s license to drive a tractor trailer. Secondly, there’s a log that he has to keep track of the hours that he drives versus the hours that he sleeps. There could be multiple layers of insurance between the front of the vehicle versus the load that he’s carrying. There’s a lot of factors in a trucking accident. One of our attorneys actually went to school to learn specifically all of the rules and all of the regulations involving tractor trailer accidents. And so you want to make sure that the lawyer that you hire really knows what they’re doing when it comes to trucking accidents and has taken the time to do additional training to handle trucking accidents, which we have, frankly. So what do we do? We start with the investigation, similar to a car accident, except in every big trucking case, we’re probably going to do an accident reconstruction to really make sure that we document everything and that we’re clear as to what’s going on. We’re gonna look for copies of that log. There’s a black box in the truck that we’re gonna request. There’s a lot of extra things that we’re gonna use to prove that that truck was at fault, as well as looking at the driver and the driver’s history. So there’s a lot of additional evidence and a lot of additional information that we need to really seek out to make sure we build a super strong investigation to prove they’re at fault, and then of course we’re looking at the multiple layers of insurance to make sure that you’re really covered because unfortunately very serious and catastrophic accidents happen because of the tremendous weight and nature of when a tractor trailer hits a car it requires a lot of insurance to make sure we can take care of our clients take care of you so if you’ve been involved in a tractor trailer or any kind of commercial trucking case obviously give us a call and we’re there for you.
