So, you’re in Newport. Maybe you’re here as a tourist for the summer. Maybe you live downtown on the island year-round and you’re wondering where are the most accidents? So, the first most dangerous place is Memorial Boulevard. And that’s because number one, you have all the gawkers, right? So, in the summertime, you’ve got a ton of people walking in downtown, bicycles all over the place, people crossing the street, and unfortunately, they don’t always cross in the crosswalk. They’re darting out. Cars are jammed in traffic. People are trying to pass. They’re deciding whether to go further down to the right and go further downtown or head across towards the beaches. Which way should they go?
So, just be careful on Memorial Boulevard. There’s a lot of accidents. The second most dangerous intersection is JT McConnell Highway and of course where that rotary is. And now with the rerouting of how you’re handling the Newport Bridge, you have way more traffic coming in down towards the rotary. You’ve got people coming in both directions. And let’s be honest, you don’t have a lot of rotaries in Rhode Island. And people don’t know how to drive in rotaries. So, it causes a lot of confusion and a lot of accidents. So, be careful out there. But if you do get into an accident and you need somebody to help you, give us a call because Rob wins.
