So, having been a personal injury lawyer for the last 25 years and really doing a lot of car accident work, I often get asked what are the most dangerous locations for car accidents in Springfield, Massachusetts. So, the number one location in Springfield is Belmont Avenue and then all of those side streets that are coming across Belmont Avenue, and of course, Belmont is known as 83, and it’s known as the X factor. There are like 29 accidents per year alone on Belmont Avenue. So, it’s a super dangerous intersection. When you’re driving down that road, watch out at each of those intersections coming along 83. Look left, look right, even though you think you know that people are stopping, make sure and double-check before you proceed through to make sure you’re safe.
So, Belmont Street was number one in Springfield, Massachusetts. Number two is Plainfield Street, Route 20A. And of course, same thing, all of those intersections all the way down Plainfield, that’s averaging about 18 accidents a year. So that’s the second most dangerous intersection or road coming up in the north end of Springfield. So, be careful when you’re traversing either one of those roads.
