What Is the Rhode Island Statute of Limitations for Personal Injury?

Statute of limitations in rhode island for personal injury is three years from the date of the incident now if you’re a minor and you turn 18 right you’re gonna have until your 21st birthday in order to bring your claim and for wrongful death which is a related cause of action it’s also three years related to personal injuries there is a discovery provision and if you could not have reasonably discovered the harm until a certain point, the statute will be told and the time will run from that point. So let’s say you had a surgery and everything seemed to be okay or as expected for two years. But then two years later, symptoms came on and it was discovered maybe an instrument was left in or something like that. In that case, the discovery will extend the time for filing an action.
