So, you’ve been injured while you’re at work in Worcester, Massachusetts, and you’re wondering what are the next steps? What should you do? So, the most important thing you want to do immediately is document your case.
So, what does that actually mean? It means number one, you want to report it to your employer. You want to let them know what happened and that you were injured. But also, if you got injured not directly at work. So, you’re a delivery driver and you’re delivering to somebody’s business and you’re stocking the shelves and you have a slip and fall case at their location. You want to make sure that you document it while you’re at that person’s business.
So, you might have two cases. You might have a personal injury case for negligence against the place that you were at, but of course, you also have a worker’s compensation case. So, you want to make sure that you get every piece of documentation you need. Get a copy of the report if you can turn that into your employer when you do the report of injury to your employer and make sure you document who the witnesses are.
So number one is we’re going to document everything wherever it took place and find out who all the witnesses are and make sure you get their names.
Number two is you need to get medical care. So, you go either to the emergency room, the urgent care, your primary care doctor, whatever you feel is necessary for the injuries that you’re suffering at the time. But you want to make sure that you document what those injuries are. So, you want to follow up immediately with medical care.
Number three, of course, is you want to call my office. We want to make sure that you have someone in your corner, someone on your team, your side, to make sure that we’re handling everything legally. We’re listening to you. We’re following up. And we’re making sure that we’re properly handling your case and making sure we do everything we can to ensure that you win.
