Personal Injury value calculator

What Is the Personal Injury Calculator?

Our personal injury calculator is a helpful tool for determining the potential value of your accident claim. We’ve designed the calculator to give you an estimated range of outcomes based on the thousands of personal injury cases we’ve settled at Rob Levine Law.

How Do I Use the Personal Injury Calculator?

The calculator will ask you 13 questions across four steps to estimate the value of your personal injury settlement. You won’t need to provide any personal information to receive your estimate.

Step 1

The calculator inquires about your employment status and prompts you to choose the type of incident you were involved in. The available options are:

If you’re unsure whether your accident falls under any of those categories, our knowledgeable personal injury attorneys can analyze your case and provide you with an estimate through a free consultation.

Step 2

This step requests information about your income and how your injury is affecting your ability to work:

  • How much do you make per week?

Answer this question by providing the gross amount of your weekly pay. If you have two or more jobs, add your wages together.

  • How many weeks will you miss out of work?

If you’ve returned to work, provide the number of weeks you missed while healing. If you haven’t returned to your job yet, give a rough estimate of how long you believe you’ll be out. If you didn’t miss any work after your accident, enter “0.”

  • How many weeks were you partially disabled?

Partial disability means you’re under a doctor’s care but able to work or participate in your daily routine as normal. If you were totally disabled for any period of time and directed by your doctor to remain out of work, do not include those weeks in your answer.

Step 3

This step first asks you to choose the type of injury you’ve suffered from the following options:

  • Muscular/Soft tissue injury
  • Fracture/Broken Bone
  • Herniated disc
  • Concussion or a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
  • Catastrophic Injury, such as Paralysis, Loss of Limb, or Loss of Life

It also asks whether you have received a whole-body permanent impairment rating. If you have a permanent disability that is unlikely to improve, your doctor can assign a percentage of loss ranging from 0 to 100. Enter that percentage here. Leave it at “0” if you do not have a permanent disability. If you enter a number, you must also enter your age at the time of the injury.

Next, the calculator will ask if your doctor has indicated whether you will require future therapy, medications, injections, or surgery. You may check a box for each or leave them blank.

The fourth question is whether your accident has left any scars. If “no,” move on to Step 4. If “yes,” answer the two additional questions about the length and location of your scars.

Step 4

Once you’ve reached Step 4, the calculator will show an estimated gross settlement for your personal injury case. If you have questions or are interested in starting a claim, the calculator includes a contact form to help you schedule a free consultation with our trusted attorneys.

How Should I Interpret the Results?

While the values provided by our personal injury calculator can be helpful, they are nothing more than general estimates based on your inputs. The calculator and its answers are not legal advice and do not create an attorney-client relationship.

The calculator’s answers also do not account for state laws or statutes of limitations. A skilled lawyer can provide a more accurate valuation of your potential personal injury settlement. However, they’ll first need to read incident reports, review your medical records and bills, and have in-depth conversation with you.

How Accurate Are the Results of This Calculator?

Our personal injury calculator’s results are based on data from thousands of case settlements, but they are only rough estimates based on your answers. Our team can give you a more accurate estimate after a free consultation.

Most states allow injury victims to recover reduced compensation if they’re partially responsible for an accident, but some have much stricter rules. Our attorneys can help you understand your legal options.

Damages for pain and suffering are calculated using a variety of different factors, including the type of injury you suffered, whether it resulted in a permanent injury, and the amount of time your pain or impairment will last.

You should never accept an insurance company’s first settlement offer before speaking with an attorney. Insurers often attempt to lowball injury victims with an initial offer far below the true value of their claims.

Many factors can impact the value of your personal injury claim, but most of them relate to the severity of your injuries. How badly you’re hurt affects the time you’ll miss from work, your medical costs, your personal life, and more, all of which influence the value of a personal injury settlement.

Common damages available in a personal injury case include:

  • Medical bills and future treatment costs
  • Lost wages and diminished future earning capacity
  • Property damage
  • Pain and suffering
  • Emotional distress
  • Loss of enjoyment of life
  • Disfigurement and scarring
