What if My Injuries Show Up Weeks After an Accident?

If your injuries show up weeks after the accident, the first thing to realize is that that’s not uncommon at all, especially in motor vehicle accidents. The types of injuries that people sustain in those accidents, whether it be whiplash or soft tissue injuries or even internal injuries, can sometimes take weeks to become symptomatic or to really notice that you got injured in a serious way. So the first thing to remember is to seek the proper medical attention, make sure that you’re getting both the care that you need to address the injuries and to just make sure that it’s in the medical records so that we can eventually link it back to the motor vehicle accident. You should also consult an attorney, preferably at Rob Levine Law, and they can help you through that process. They can make sure that you’re getting the proper treatment and that there’s no gaps in treatment or that we can at least address the initial gap and explain why it is that you didn’t notice the injuries originally and what it is that you to deal with them once you did become aware of them. Most importantly, you need to get the proper medical attention and retain an attorney to help guide you through and help you understand if you do have a personal injury case, first of all, and then to help you navigate the process and ensure that you receive the compensation you’re entitled to.
