Are E-Bikes Treated the Same as Regular Bicycles in an Injury Claim?

There’s a tremendous influx of e-bikes on the road now. We see them all over the place. And lots of people are asking, “What’s the difference between an accident with an e-bike versus a regular bike?” The question is always going to come down to negligence, right? The person who hit you, did they owe you a duty? Was there a breach? Right? Was there causation? Was there damages? And so the reality is we still look at the rules of the road, right? And how you are operating the e-bike versus how you are operating your bicycle. So there are specific rules that apply to bicycles non-motorized versus an e-bike which is motorized. So there’s not a lot of differences. We just need to show that the other party is at fault for the accident.
