Supporting the Homeless: A Fundraising Event with Purpose
The impact of homelessness in Rhode Island has been growing, and now, more than ever, it’s crucial for the community to come together and support those in need. MÃE, a local organization dedicated to helping individuals experiencing homelessness, is hosting a significant fundraising event to raise awareness and provide much-needed resources for the homeless population. With a mission of feeding, clothing, and housing those in crisis, this nonprofit has been an anchor of support for the homeless community in the region.
As a proud sponsor of the Taking the Reins on Homelessness event, Rob Levine Law is thrilled to support this incredible cause. This fun-filled evening combines entertainment with the opportunity to give back, making it an unforgettable way to contribute to the fight against homelessness. Rob Levine, Board Member of MÃE, and Executive Director Tuni Schartner, joined The Rhode Show to share their insights into the event and the importance of supporting those affected by homelessness.
The Organization's Mission: A Lifeline for the Homeless
The MÃE organization has been serving the Rhode Island community for 17 years, focusing on the essential, basic needs of individuals experiencing homelessness. Over time, their efforts have expanded to provide food and clothing and assist in securing stable housing. With the homeless population in Rhode Island rising by 35% in just the past year, the need for these services is more urgent than ever.
Taking The Reins on Homelessness Fundraiser: Fun with a Purpose
Taking The Reins on Homelessness is a celebration and a powerful opportunity to support a cause that truly makes a difference. On Saturday, May 3, from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, the community will gather at Harbor Lights in Warwick for an unforgettable evening featuring a fashion show, dancing, a derby event, and much more. This event is a key fundraiser for MÃE, with 100% of ticket proceeds going directly to helping the organization fulfill its mission to assist those experiencing homelessness.
Rob Levine, a long-time supporter of MÃE, encourages everyone to attend: “Come for a good time, but also for a great cause.” Taking The Reins on Homelessness is an opportunity to have fun while making a lasting impact on the lives of those in need. It’s a chance for the entire community to come together, support the cause, and contribute to meaningful change.
How You Can Help: Attend, Donate, Volunteer
MÃE thrives on donations from the public and grants to fund its programs. All the proceeds from the event will go directly toward helping those in need. The event also allows volunteers to give back—more than 50 volunteers assist weekly with various programs, helping the organization grow and meet the increasing demand for its services.
As Rob Levine emphasizes, “The work never ends, and we rely on the community’s generosity to keep making a difference.” Whether you attend, donate, or volunteer, your involvement can significantly impact the fight against homelessness in Rhode Island.
A Community Effort: Together We Can Make a Difference
As the old saying goes, “Many hands make light work.” The collective effort of the community, volunteers, and donors is what allows organizations like MÃE to continue their vital work. The upcoming fundraiser is an opportunity to be part of something greater and contribute to a cause that positively impacts the lives of many.
