October 2020 Recalls
Ford is recalling 620,000 vehicles including model year 2020 Ford F-150, Super Duty F-250 and F-350, and Ranger pickup trucks for issues regarding poor electrical connection which may cause the rearview camera to periodically display a blank or distorted image. This could result in a lack of rearward visibility and increase the risk of crashing. Ford plans on beginning to notify owners starting November 7th, 2020. If owners wish to check if their car is one of those affected, they can visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s website or call 888-327-4236.
Wismettac Asian Foods, Inc. is recalling packages of contaminated wood ear mushrooms discovered to have the presence of Salmonella in the product. As of October 6th, 43 patients have confirmed being affected, including 4 hospitalizations. This outbreak has been found in 10 states so far, including Massachusetts and Connecticut. The packages of mushrooms were only sold to restaurants, not directly to consumers. Although the product has been recalled, if you are concerned, it is encouraged that you ask the restaurant where their mushrooms are from.
Ashtel Studios voluntarily announced the recall of their 0.84 oz hand sanitizer packages. These packages resemble food or drink pouches while being geared toward children by displaying popular children’s characters, including PAW Patrol, JoJo Siwa, Hot Wheels, Barbie, Trolls, and Minions. Digesting hand sanitizer can result in alcohol toxicity. Since it may be easy to mistake the packaging of the hand sanitizer as a food or drink, Ashtel Studios recalled the product from stores and urges anyone who may have purchased the packages to dispose of them.
