Recalls from Volkswagon, BMW, Ford, Mercedes-Benz, and Trans Texas Tire
Volkswagon is recalling certain 2015-2019 GTI, 2015-2016 and 2018-2019 Golf, 2012-2019 Beetle and Beetle Convertible, 2018-2019 Golf SportWagen and 2011-2018 Jetta vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission, manual handbrake, and keyless entry. A build-up of silicate may enable the key to be removed from the ignition when the transmission shift lever is not in “park.”
BMW is recalling 2008-2012 BMW 128i, 135i, and 135is sedans, coupes, and convertibles. The wiring and electrical connectors in the blower-regulator wiring harness may overheat, causing the electrical connectors to melt and increasing the risk of a fire.
Ford recalled select 2020 Ford Explorer and Lincoln Aviator vehicles for a potentially missing manual park release soccer. If the cover is not installed, the manual park release lever may be activated, resulting in unintended vehicle movement and increasing the risk of a crash.
Trans Texas Tire is recalling certain Contender 5.70-8 tires sold exclusively through discount tire stores. The tire sidewalls are incorrectly labeled, and as such, these vehicles fail to comply with requirements of tire identification and recordkeeping.
Mercedes-Benz is recalling select 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE350 and GLE450 SUVs. The connection between the fuel filler pipe and the fuel tank may have been improperly welded, allowing a fuel leak that can increase the risk of a fire.
