How Insurance companies try to pay you less. Part 3

Welcome back and we’re still continuing on how to settle your case on your own with the insurance company. My disclaimer as always, I don’t recommend it. Call us and we can certainly help you with it. Why? Because we have 25 years of experience settling claims with insurance company and getting you every dollar you deserve. So, what are we going to talk about next? Let’s talk about residuals. What does a residual mean? It means that you have a continuing medical condition that the insurance company should be responsible for. Let’s pick an easy example. Let’s say that you have a a back injury and it requires pain management and you’re going to be getting injections and your doctor, your pain management doctor says to you, you’re going to need an injection every 6 months to one year. So, if we looked at the federal life tables, the average person lives to the age of 78 years of age. So, if you’re 50 years old, you have 28 years to live. And if you’re going to be getting pain management injections for the next 28 years, that’s a lot of injections. There’s a lot of cost there for medical bills. There’s pain and suffering and things could go wrong. Things could worsen. That’s one of the risks when you settle your case because when you sign on the dotted line, you can never go back to the insurance company. So, you have to factor in what are my residuals? What additional procedures do I have to have in order to stay healthy? and is something you should consider when settling your case. Again, we’re here for you if you need us.
